Zina Kazban undertook a professional embroidery course at the Royal School of Needlework after leaving a career in HR to pursue her lifelong passion for hand embroidery. She learned and mastered traditional embroidery techniques at the Future Tutors programme, which she successfully completed with distinction in 2018. Additionally, Zina underwent specialised training in fashion embroidery at Ecole Lesage (Métiers d’Art CHANEL), where she mastered advanced tambour beading skills.

Over the years, Zina has taught embroidery classes at esteemed institutions such as The Royal School of Needlework (both in the UK and USA), The Crewel Work Company, London Embroidery School, and Landmark Art Centre.

Following her graduation, she worked at the RSN Embroidery Studio located in Hampton Court Palace. In this role she was engaged in various conservation and restoration projects. She participated in the restoration of a coronation robe worn by Lady Carnarvon at King George V’s Coronation in 1911. She replicated embroidery from the Queen Elizabeth I dress, which was showcased in ‘The Lost Dress of Elizabeth I’ exhibition held at Hampton Court Palace. Her involvement extended to the collaborative team responsible for creating embroidery for regalia for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla. Noteworthy collaborative projects encompassed partnerships with Burberry, HBO’s Game of Thrones, and the neo-pop artist Philip Colbert, all of which she participated in as a member of the RSN Studio team.

In the years 2021 and 2022, Zina exhibited her works at The Festival of Natural Fibres and The Broderers’ Exhibition: The Art of Embroidery.

In 2011-2022 Zina run bespoke hand-dyeing business and offered silk ribbons for embroidery and embellishment. Over the years she supplied bespoke ribbons to interior and fashion designers, wedding organisers, and businesses to decorate their corporate gifts.

Zina works as a freelance embroiderer and tutor and offers design and bespoke embroidery services in a wide variety of techniques. To see her recent classes, please find her teaching portfolio here.
